ONE-EYED SASSY PINEAPPLE

Here's a protective style that you can wear for 1-2 weeks. The video below will show you how to do this style as well as how I keep my hair moisturized while wearing it. To see how you can maintain this style, keep reading below.

HOW TO MAINTAIN

Picture
Day 1 Hair
Every 3-4 days, depending on your comfort level with a less defined side bang, you'll want to re-twist the front portion of your hair.  You could approach this a couple of ways. I recommend rinsing the front portion of your hair with water. I typically do this in the shower. Then, just like the video, I pat the front portion of my hair dry, add oil, leave-in conditioner, styling product, and then the flax seed oil gel. Then I begin to flat twist my hair in small sections toward my forehead. You could also lightly spritz your hair with water and then start flat twisting as your hair should still be well moisturized. While you're doing your flat twists, add more styling product towards the end of your twists as this is where your hair is
likely to be more dry. I wouldn't recommend the latter, but if you're in a rush, it would work just fine. At night, pull your side bang up and tie your scarf so that the back of your head is completely wrapped and the front has an opening so that your bang can hang in the front, middle of your forehead. In the morning, you can take it down and style it. On day two and moving forward, bobby pins will be your best friend.

MAKE IT YOURS

While the pineapple effect with a pop of curls in a side bang is super flirty and fun, the back of your hair is what I think really makes this style unique. I recommend playing around with the back of your hair to create something that fits your personality. You could try corn rows or two large flat twists, or whatever you feel you can do with ease. If you can get a second pair of hands your your head to help make straight parts, that's something that will give you a more polished look.

SO WHAT?

Day 2 Hair
I hope this video has inspired you to explore new ways in which you can style your natural hair. I understand that being natural can have it's ups and downs, but I have found that an easy-to-maintain, go-to protective style makes caring for your natural hair a breeze. Per usual, but with the mindset to excel and never plateau, beYOUtiful, keep life sweet, and never stop feeding your soul.  -xo
