What's BBN? Boss Babe Network is a women's empowerment organization that consists of networking events, custom branded merchandise, learning opportunities, and so much more. As a business owner (Soul Curly Kit), I became interested in BBN events to help me connect and learn from other business owners. I've attended two events this year and I've found them to be a great way to meet like-minded individuals. Contrary to my former experiences with networking, at BBN events, you're sure to enter a room full of welcoming folks who are interested in learning about you and what you're passionate about. Girl, what do you need a retreat for?! I went on the retreat because I felt like I deserved to take some time to myself to hit the reset button and recalibrate. I also deal with social anxiety and I've finally reached a point in my life where I'm ready to stop allowing my anxiety to control my decisions. I have never been as ready for change as I am right now, and I feel like this retreat was symbolic of my readiness for nothing to ever be the same (ha! Drizzy Drake). I booked the retreat not knowing who was going, who I would be rooming with, and not really knowing what to expect. I regret nothing! I asked the founder and owner of BBN, Mariah, to link me up with a roommate to help reduce the hotel cost. She recommended Denasiha, who's a natural hair and lifestyle influencer. Best of all, I hitched a ride with Denasiha, Brittany, and Natalie, which outside of the weekend's activities, gave me the chance to get to know these ladies better. I encourage you to connect with them on their social channels and follow them along their journey. What did you do at the retreat? The retreat took place in Gatlinburg, TN. Yes, it was cold, but it still was giving major vacation vibes. This was my first experience in Gatlinburg and the town literally felt like the location where they film Lifetime Christmas movies. There were holiday lights everywhere and the southern hospitality was real. Unless you're trying to venture out, you can walk everywhere. Here are some must-do activities I recommend:
Aside from basic tourist attractions, my favorite part of the retreat was the morning meditation and yoga sessions. These mindfulness workshops were exactly what I needed to clear my mind and feel refreshed when I returned home. The workshops were led by Chare'A (Ye' Self Care) and Lavia. These two ladies are so talented and they both transformed my perspective on wellness. The experience included yoga, crystal bowl sound healing, meditation, intention-setting, spiritual energy, and sharing our unique experiences. I left these sessions with a heart overflowing with gratitude and a strong sense of discernment. Here are my biggest takeaways from participating in these workshops:
That's that on that!
Honestly, if you're looking to move on to the next chapter in your life with a clean heart, mind, body, and spirit, I recommend any future retreats BBN hosts. I also recommend attending BBN events in Indianapolis if you're interested in meeting new people. If you have questions or want to learn more, send me a DM on Instagram. I'd love to chat and get to know you. Until next time, beYOUtiful, keep life sweet, and never stop feeding your soul. -xo |
